Summary: If you want basic this not the book for you
Comment: I think that this is a great book for someone who wants to learn how to blend shades. I have read a lot of the other reviews on this book and some say that it is a waste. I say if you want to know basic makeup application, then buy a basic book. This book cover is self-explanatory. Blending techniques with multiple colors and lash jewels applications are far more advance forms of makeup artistry. Most schools do not teach this form of makeup application. They teach business setting, bridal, and runway. This is a form of High Fashion makeup and if you can perfect this, then the other basic makeup application will be like a 2nd nature to you. I say that this book would be useful to makeup artist who do senior proms also because this look is really hot with the teens and they lean toward a more nontraditional look for proms nowadays.

Comment: As some of the reviewers already note. It looks like most the models in the book were teens. It showed illustrations and photos of the look with the eyes open only, not closed which is not very helpful for beginners like me.

Comment: I love creating eyeshadow looks but this book is horrible, all of the looks seem like they were blindly done with a fingertip. That cover eyeshadow look is decent compared to whats in this book.

Comment: The book was O.K., But the looks are nothing like extraordinary or glam. The pictures don't inspire me at all. I mean the girls in the book need some upper lip wax. I know the author wanted to make the book realistic and barely retouched, but a little wax won't hurt anything.
