One of the best in Yoga 5 out of 5

I love Rodney Yee's dvds because his voice is so calming throughout the whole thing and you feel as if you can accomplish lots.

Its about a 24 minute easy vinyasa routine that gets your energy up in a natural way and you feel it and empowered for the rest of the day.

You go through sun salutations, warrior series, back bends, downward facing, upward facing, cobra, cat rolling series, and it feels really great.

This Dvd is given the correct name. Stamina building indeed.

Good for those new to yoga or looking to get fit 5 out of 5

I first purchased this title as a VHS tape in 2004 after the yoga studio where I practiced closed. I loved the class and was looking for a replacement. Power Yoga- Stamina became my favorite yoga tape and I always enjoy it. I used it so much that I wore it out and was happy to learn that it was now available on DVD! I also have Yee's DVDs Power Yoga - Flexibility and Strength and Power Yoga - Total Body.

On the original tape and the new DVD, Yee's introduction states that it is "for beginners" and the original VHS tape said that on the front cover. I think it is important to note that if you are a true beginner (i.e. never been to an in-person class) this tape is probably not for you, as it does not have enough instruction on the mechanics of yoga. (First read Liz Lark's "Power Yoga for Beginners" book or Beth Shaw's "YogaFit" book for instruction then try the DVD.) But if you are not in great shape or want a good, stress-relieving short yoga session, this is a great one. It's short enough at 22 minutes to practice every morning.

From this tape you can work up to the harder Flexibility and Strength DVD and the much harder Total Body DVD if you wish. Or alternate them.

Best yoga DVD in the under 30 min category 5 out of 5

I had been searching far and wide for an Astanga (flowing) yoga DVD that isn't 60 min long and found that this 30 min one has everything you need--warm up, active yoga, stretching, and resting.... It is a full workout and easily slips into my 30 min AM workouts that alternate with cardio. As a Pilates devotee (yoga was never my favorite (Hatha) because I hate holding all those poses), I found the ongoing movement in the active segment quite appropriate--if you do the DVD right, you can even break a sweat. It is definitely a good workout to add to your plan.

A good stress-reduction, physical experience 4 out of 5

You really can't go wrong with Rodney Yee. But he does lack the attention to the viewer and practitioner you'll get from Bryan Kest, for example. He doesn't talk to you or about your feelings and the poses are too quick in some places to do much good. A pose should be held about 12 seconds at least. You're in up dog about one to two seconds and must revert to down dog.

Nonetheless, you get a good general physical workout and feel tenseness fade. So this short yoga session serves it's purpose.

For a good 20 minute power yoga session, get Bryan Kest's 20 minute session. You'll hold the poses longer and perhaps enjoy it a bit more.

Recommended.
