Editorial Review: Enjoy in-flight entertainment on your own personal headphones. No need to use airline issued low quality "used" headphones. This adapter converts the dual prong plug to a standard 3.5mm stereo jack for use with any standard or noise cancelling headphones. Maxell brand retail packaged product. Maxell model number AA-1 Item X 190395 Limited availability factory buyout.

It is a Plug 5 out of 5

It's a plug.
It recombines the stereo split... what else can I say?
Doubt you need a user's manual. Plug it in, plug in your headphones....
Reliable.
Wish I could say the same for most airline seat sockets.

must have gizmo 5 out of 5

Although I did not have to use the adapter on the planes I recently flew (Iberia & American, if the plane you fly has 2 prong outlet, the adapter is a must have in order to avoid annoying one bud audio performance. I think the 2 prong adapter is necessary for newer planes with personal screens. Iberia and American planes did not have personal screens. The last adapter I bought in Japan cost $19 and it broke. At this price, it is worth having the adapter just in case.

apple ear buds? 4 out of 5

does anyone know whether this adapter can receive the plug size of the earbuds that come with the ipod nano? or any earbud set for that matter? ( NOT headphones)

thanks

Thumb your nose at the evil arilines. 5 out of 5

The only reason that airlines have special jacks is so that they could charge you for special disposable headphones to pay for cabin movies. This adapter makes it possible to use noise isolating buds or bose headphones easily.

The L-shaped design is well thought out, since the outlets are usually facing inward to the seat or on the edge of the handrest, it can be easily plugged and used without having your headset cord sticking you in the ribs. reduces stress on your headphones plug.

Check your airline first! 3 out of 5

Whilst this product is no doubt useful, it is not a universal fit on all aircrafts (and cabin classes). For example, it does not fit on British Airways 747 Club World seats.
