Compatibility: Medium Hard Drives
Perfect for my 1 TB Iomega eGo external hard drive 5 out of 5
This is the perfect case for my Iomega eGo 1 TB external hard drive. The internal divider is adjustable and when set for the hard drive, it leaves a small section, which is just the perfect size for the power supply and the USB cable. It is slim enough to still fit in my backpack along with the computer and other items. I love it!
misrepresented 1 out of 5
this product is totally misrepresented by the photo that is shown. what is shown is a made to fit
case of appropriate side. in reality you can fit four external hard drives maybe six in this thing.

Cheap construction and too thin for all but the newest hard drives 2 out of 5
I bought this so I would have have something to safely transport my hard disk to and from school. I own a number of hard drives, some are older and some are newer, and out of all of them I could only get a very new and slim Fantom hard disk to fit inside comfortably. I had moderate success with an older Seagate drive, but after cramming it in there was no room for the power adapter, defeating the purpose in my opinion.
The construction also seems pretty cheap (I find this to be true for most Case Logic products, and I always forget to buy other brands!) and the padding leaves much to be desired. In fact, there is no padding at all except for a thin layer of felt, which seems like it is more for protecting from scratches than from jostles or drops. Under the felt is a paper-thin layer of semi-rigid plastic (at first I thought it was just heavy paperboard...it wouldn't have surprised me), and then is the outside nylon. Pinching the walls between your finger, you can tell that there is not much there.
If you're just looking for a convenient way to transport small drives, this may be for you. If you're looking for even a little protection from your drive being knocked around or you have medium to large size drives, I'd look elsewhere.
Does the Job 4 out of 5
Why is it so difficult to find a case that fits a particular item? Why doesn't the manufacturer team with a company like Case Logic to say "...by the way the Deluxo Widget will fit perfectly in the Case Logic model 12QWZ...." Instead, we are left to troll the information pages of Amazon and Case Logic to find the "right" case, or, at least one that does the job. Sigh...I digress.... This case fits the WD Elements 1.5 TB drive. This is an external drive (3.5"). The transformer fits in the side pocket and the USB cable fits in the compartment in the lid. The drive slides into the main compartment. As some others pointed out, this is probably not the right case to ship a hard drive to Iraq, but for normal use it is great. I think it would protect the drive from the 3 ft drop to a hardwood floor that most of us are concerned about. It's a good choice.
