Average Customer Rating: 4.5 / 5.0 Total Number of Reviews: 59 Editorial Review: Isokinetics Ball Chairs are the same chairs sold by others, only at a manufacturer direct price. No middleman means no need to pay more! And, we provide all of our chairs with a 1 year guarantee. As an additional bonus, we provide an exclusive exercise ball measuring tape that takes the guesswork out of inflating your ball. Sitting on an exercise ball while at home or work promotes flexibility, coordination, motor skills, core strengthening, and balance. Your body, when positioned on top of an exercise ball, is constantly making small adjustments, often imperceptible, to remain balanced and thus is constantly exercising a large group of muscles in doing so. By strengthening your body's core muscle group you help improve your posture, have better balance and guard against back injuries. It may take time before your body becomes accustom to sitting on an exercise ball, since your core muscles may not have gotten much exercise previously. Start by using it 10 to 15 minutes a day and gradually work your way up. If you have had back problems or injuries, make sure to consult your physician or therapist first. Note: We provide a small, basic pump for free for you to have a way to inflate your ball. However, exercise balls require a lot of air and it will take a lot of pumping with the free pump. So, you may want to consider purchasing at this time a high volume air pump, especially if you use exercise balls a lot or have other things you often inflate, like pool toys or air mattresses.
Good price, OK quality. Took some getting used to. 3 out of 5
I shopped around for a chair like this quite a bit. Used to use a plain balance ball as a chair and liked that well enough, but the ball was always rolling away whenever I got up.
The price on the IsoKinetics brand of this chair is pretty good compared to others. I was disappointed that the only way to adjust the height is by inflating or deflating the ball (I am 6 feet tall and this chair is only rated for up to 5'11"). There are height extenders made for it but no one seems to have them in stock.
Pretty easy to put together, but you're supposed to partially inflate the ball, then continue filling it 24 hours later--that's a hassle. Also, the pump which was included is a piece of junk. After inflating to a certain point it was losing air faster than the ball was gaining it. Luckily I had a really good quality ball pump that worked much better and faster.
It took about 2 weeks for my butt to get accustomed to sitting on this, but that might be due to my existing sciatic problem, not to the chair itself. Now it is quite comfortable and I feel like I am sitting with better posture, not slumping at all.
Ideally I would like to see this sold with a choice of ball sizes and/or optional height extenders, and a better pump. great ball chair 5 out of 5
It is a great product, my doctor recommended it. Although your muscles exercise holding the balance you still fell save. Strongly recommend. It was also very fast delivery.
Donna Great chair 5 out of 5
After having issues with my back - this chair has really helped me be able to stretch and move my body all while doing my work. Great chair 5 out of 5
I got this as a gift for Christmas. I sit on it every morning for breakfast, and sometimes for dinner or to feed my son his meals. It is well constructed and has lasted well for these last 7 months. It was easy to put together. I am about 5'3" and fit very comfortably on it. You do have to inflate it partially, then fully to get it to be firm enough to sit in, so don't expect to be able to use it right away. The rollers have a locking mechanism, but I don't lock them as I don't use it for exercise purposes. The backrest is nice, I find I can sit in it longer because of it.
If you are looking to purchase this chair for exercise benefits, an plain exercise ball (minus the chair) would be better. I have a larger exercise ball and after sitting on just it for 15 minutes, I can feel it in my core. After sitting on the chair ball for 15 minutes, I really don't feel much of a difference. Never considered height would be an issue 3 out of 5
I'm 5'10" tall but I never considered that this seat wouldn't sit high enough. However, my knees hurt like hell after just 10 minutes on this seat. Be prepared for the height issue if you're going to purchase this product. Also, I found it a little more complicated to accurately inflate the ball than previous reviews noted.
Basically, I think the theory and principal is solid BUT this seat is far from practical for everyone.
