Editorial Review: NotePal U2 is a simple stand that elevates your notebook to a comfortable viewing angle for better posture. The aluminum meshed design ensures that heat dissipates quickly to prevent your notebook from overheating. Its slim and lightweight feature gives you the absolute convenience to take anywhere, easy stow away, and protection. Two optional 80 mm fans will allow you to cool the necessary areas generating the most heat.

Great product 5 out of 5

Lightweight and portable yet very sturdy. It really cools my 15.6" laptop, even without the fans, and the angle is great for typing and preventing carpal tunnel syndrome!

Has helped tremendously 5 out of 5

I have a Dell 1420 and it gets hot to the touch (really, really hot).

I've bought one before that was plastic, and my laptop warped it. This design--made of metal--really does the trick. The material acts like a heatsink but all the holes in the design help hot air dissipate more quickly.

It always astounds me to see how expensive plastic laptop coolers are. This product was actually thoughtfully designed, made of the right material, and really helps cool down an overheating Dell 1420. It is sturdy, and allows you to move the fans to help target the areas of a laptop which get hottest (with my laptop, it's the bottom left that gets heated the most).

So good! I am actually thinking of purchasing a second one for a gift!

A great purchase. Looks, Durability and Performance are excellent. 5 out of 5

I purchased this for my 14" notebook.

The laptop fits perfectly, but I agree with Mr. J. Manarang in that a larger system would unquestionably benefit with a cooling pad of proportional size. For larger notebooks running in a desktop environment Thermaltake's got some decent stuff. Antec too, but both cost significantly more.

If you're looking to purchase a cooling pad I strongly suggest that you first analyze where your air intake, CPU, and GPU are and purchase one with fan(s) in subsequent areas.

I like the fact that with this unit, the fans can be removed and re-attached to the main member. The unit is very well designed and it definitely promotes air flow, fans or no fans. Thus, it offers maximum flexibility.

I rate it a solid 5 stars.

Cool.

Excellent cooling ability and a good price 5 out of 5

I originally bought a cooling pad from a major office supply store. It only lasted about four months before it stopped working. Next, I came to Amazon and compared the many different cooling pads offered. The main reason I picked this one is because the fans can be easily moved so that you can line them up exactly with the vents on your laptop. As a result, this cooling pad works MUCH better than the first one I bought. Even after using the laptop for a couple hours, the bottom of the laptop is still cool to the touch. It is very impressive.

Finally found one that does the job! 5 out of 5

I have a 17inch, 15inch and a netbook. All give heat in different areas. The 17inch in particular was hard to find a product to cool it. The fans for it are in the extreme left and right corners, and one fan has started to fail. I tried the Targus Lap Chill Mat AWE55US, before this one. While it was a great product, the fans are located in the middle, and not movable, also not as sturdy and had problems with the weight of the large laptop. It did nothing to keep the larger laptop cool. The Cooler Master was perfect. I was able to switch the fans position exactly where they were needed. The fans are easy to snap on and remove with the the push of a button. Airflow is abundant, and because the surface is full of small holes, it keeps the air from getting hot in any one place. It also does not tie up a USB slot, as the connecter has a slot to plug in items too. It is very sturdy and handles the weight of my large laptop with ease. It is not really made for sitting on your lap, so I use a padded lap desk with a flat surface to sit this and the laptop on, works perfect. If you have more than one item, with different heat issues, or are just looking for a reasonably priced (less than most of the others that did not cool as well), sturdy notebook cooler, I think you will be satisfied with this product, I was.
